Profile & Material Specifications
The foundation of every folding door is its aluminum profile. We use extruded 6063-T5 alloy with a polyamide thermal break strip that physically separates the interior and exterior aluminum surfaces. This barrier reduces heat conduction by up to 60% compared to non-thermally-broken systems.
Surface treatment options include powder coating (standard RAL colors), anodizing (natural silver, bronze, or black), and woodgrain transfer for a timber aesthetic without the maintenance. All finishes carry a minimum 10-year warranty against peeling, fading, or corrosion.
Hardware System Breakdown

Glazing Options & Energy Performance
Standard configuration is 5mm + 12A + 5mm double-glazed insulated glass units (IGU). For enhanced thermal or acoustic performance, we offer triple glazing (5mm + 9A + 5mm + 9A + 5mm), Low-E coated glass, and argon-filled cavities. All glass is tempered for safety and can be specified with tinted or frosted options.
The U-value of 1.2 W/(m²·K) is achieved with Low-E double glazing and argon fill — sufficient for most residential climates without requiring triple-pane weight and cost. For passive-house-level performance, triple glazing brings U-values down to 0.8 W/(m²·K).
Configuration & Sizing Guide
Folding doors are configured by the number of panels and stacking direction. Common configurations include 2-panel, 3-panel, 4-panel, and up to 8-panel systems for wide openings. Panels can stack to the left, right, or split-stack to both sides.
Maximum single-panel width is 1200 mm; beyond this, additional panels are recommended to maintain structural rigidity and smooth operation. Total opening width is theoretically unlimited with multi-track systems. Standard height caps at 3000 mm; taller installations require reinforced profiles and additional structural assessment.
Threshold & Weather Sealing
Three threshold options are available: flush track (minimal trip hazard, best for accessibility), raised weather-seal threshold (superior water tightness for exposed locations), and recessed track (concealed bottom rail for premium aesthetics). Each threshold includes EPDM compression seals at every panel junction and a continuous brush seal along the track.
Installation Requirements
Proper installation is critical to achieving the rated performance figures. The structural opening must be square within 3mm tolerance, and the head beam must support the total panel weight (approximately 25 kg per square meter of glass). We recommend professional installation by certified dealers to ensure warranty validity.
Lead time for standard configurations is 15–20 business days. Custom colors, oversized panels, or special glass specifications may extend to 25–30 business days. All doors ship with full installation manuals, template jigs for track alignment, and technical support via video call during installation.
